We are looking for an experienced Family Advisor to join our team. You must have up to date knowledge of welfare benefits and housing legislation as well as other areas that are likely to impact on disabled people. Salary Range (depending on experience): Pro rata of £25,000 to £29,000 incl. OLW

Hours: 28 hours per week

Contract: 12 months with potential for extension

This will be a targeted advice provision and support for families in crises in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Many of these families have been disproportionately impacted by Covid.

The Families Adivsor will work 4 days per week that will provide in-depth case work for people, mainly families in crises, often implementing multiple interventions and leveraging a range of support. The main areas of need that have been identified are benefits, housing, domestic violence, safeguarding, immigration, debt and money problems. Advisers will provide support by attending case conferences and MARAC meetings where needed.

You will work closely with our busy and established advice, benefits advice and money advice teams and will have the capacity to work with a smaller number of clients in a more comprehensive way. Clients on this project are likely to have a range of complex issues where they will need support over a long period of time.

The project will play a role in gathering information re future advice needs of these hard to reach communities, influencing future delivery.

Location: Richmond AID is based in Teddington in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. We may require some home working at present. Our offices are open and we see clients face to face but we are still following social distance guidance and therefore have a rota system in place. The postholder must be able to commute to the office as required and be able to see clients face to face either by home visits, by attending outreach or appointments at our offices.
