The University of Lincoln Students’ Union 

The University of Lincoln Students’ Union is an independent body affiliated to the National Union of Students and supports students in both academic and non-academic experiences; whilst working closely with the University and local community.

Student leaders are elected by students, and look after specific areas of the student experience. The student leaders are fully supported by a professional staff team, who’s knowledge and expertise enables the students union to deliver services and represent student needs.

There are currently very exciting developments taking place with the Advice Centre to ensure that we are supporting University of Lincoln students to the fullest.

Hours: 37 hours per week

Closes: 2nd September 2019 at 8am

Interviews: 27th August (preliminary telephone interviews) 30th August (panel interviews)

The Assistant Advice Centre Manager will support the Advice Centre Manager to run a professional advice service, and the delivery of high quality, independent advice to our members. The role will require ongoing casework management, and delegation of responsibilities for the day to day activities and management of the Advice Centre.

Key Responsibilities include:

– providing confidential, independent and impartial advice on issues in four key advice categories: academic, finance, housing and welfare
– collect and analyse service data and trends to support the development of the service and inform the work of the organisation to drive positive change for our members
– contribute to campaigns to ensure successful outcomes such as our Housing Fair
– advise and represent (when applicable) University of Lincoln and University of Nottingham Medical School members on University Regulations and Policies relevant to them, covering a range of academic issues. For example, grade appeals, extenuating circumstances, complaints, misconduct, academic offences and Fitness to Practise. This will include providing representation at School, College and University level meetings
